Sydney born sculptor Clary Akon completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of New South Wales. Working primarily in porcelain, Akon creates boxed dioramas that feature small and intricately sculpted objects. With these objects Akon explores the human condition by examining the role of the collector, a role in which he sees as fundamental in our desire to make sense of the world. Akon has collaborated to create large-scale public works at Watsons Bay, Sydney and exhibited in Sculpture by the Sea. His work is held in numerous collections including North Sydney Council, Kennedy Miller Studios, Nutcote, The National Library Of Australia, Canberra and The Museum of Dover, UK.
