Drawing and Printmaking Workshop with Martin King

In News February 7, 2020

In May, print maker Martin King will feature as a guest artist with Amazigh Cultural Tours. This 14 day immersive, cultural tour of southern Morocco will take place from 2 – 16 May 2020. The trip will take participants from the ancient city of Marrakech over the Atlas Mountains to the edge of the Sahara.

Suitable for beginners or advanced artists, the program will explore a variety of drawing and simple low-tech printmaking techniques. Martin will share his skills and expertise in drawing to respond to the Amazigh (Berber) culture and landscape. Finding a balance between site seeing and art making, some days will involve guided tours, long drives through spectacular landscape or time to relax, while other days will devote more time to art-making. Participants will also be able to explore the artisan workshops and souqs, superb historic collections including the Tiskiwin Museum and Yves Saint Laurent’s collection at the Musee Berber in Marrakech.

Traveling with like-minded people and an experienced team of co-hosts, the program offers an innovative and creative way to explore a new place that is stimulating, supportive and safe. Accommodation is provided in the most comfortable traditional guesthouses, where you will enjoy the extraordinary delights of Amazigh food, hospitality and traditional music.
