Sculptor and mixed media artist James Powditch was a construction and prop builder for the Sydney Dance Company and the Sydney Theatre Company from 1989 to 2001. Powditch has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and his work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the S.H. Ervin Gallery and Sculpture by the Sea, Sydney. He has completed commissions for the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery and commercial clients including Audi. He was the co-winner of the 2005 Blake Prize for religious art. His work is held by several regional galleries including Ballarat Regional Gallery, VIC.
