Draughtsman Sally Scott was born in New Zealand, arriving in Australia in 1966 and completing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Deakin University in 1984. Her simply composed works depict household items and small specimens of the natural world as parts of larger narratives, such as the life of anthropologist Daisy Bates. Scott was the Foundation Gallery Director of the Wangaratta Art Gallery from 1986-88 and the Foundation Gallery Director of the Monash Gallery of Art from 1988-90.
