Congratulations to Peter Lundberg, finalist in the North Sydney Art Prize 2019 for his works Faulty Tower and Hu Tong
The North Sydney Art Prize is a major biennial arts event showcasing some of the best in contemporary art by artists across Australia. The North Sydney Art Prize showcases artwork by local, regional and national artists in an extraordinary venue – the fantastic Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability in Waverton. This transformed industrial site allows visitors to explore the Art Prize across varying landscapes, from the stunning Platform overlooking the harbour to the hidden tunnels underneath and surrounding parklands.
This year, the Prize is themed around the topic of sustainability, making the Coal Loader and its history an interesting juxtaposition to many of the pieces. 115 finalists have been selected from an incredible 411 entries to exhibit paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, installation and new media based works.
Selected works will be exhibited in the Caretakers Cottage, Artist Studio, Workshop, Mess Hall, Platform, Tunnels 1 & 2, newly refurbished 25 Chambers, across the Coal Loader site and surrounding parklands.
