Highly celebrated artist Tim Jones will be opening his studio to the public this month and next, to let them see how he works and discuss what drives him as an artist.
Tim is one of 25 central Victorian artists who were selected to be part of this year’s Daylesford Macedon Ranges Open Studios program.
Open Studios, in its sixth year, is designed to help demystify the arts for the public by letting them meet and see established artists at work.
An Open Studios veteran, Tim is one of 25 artists chosen by an NGV, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Alcaston Galleries curatorial panel to be on show this year.
Tim Jones’ studio is located at 77 Colwells Road, Newham, near Hanging Rock, about an hour up the Calder Highway from Melbourne.
The artist will be greeting visitors 10am – 5pm on 21 – 22 and 28 – 29 April and on 5 – 6 May.
Tim Jones’ work has been included in exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and in 2005 a survey exhibition of his work was held at Stonington Gallery, Deakin University. Jones has taught at Australian institutions since 1986, including the Victorian College of the Arts. His work is held by The British Museum, London, UK, the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, most state galleries and several regional Victorian galleries.
