Pamela Wardell

Pamela Wardell (nee Hyett) was born in Melbourne in 1962. She completed a Fine Arts degree at Warrnambool Institute, Deacon University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts at Victorian College of the Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Hawthorn Institute of Education, Melbourne University. From 1996 to 1998, she worked as a Lecturer in Fashion Illustration at Melbourne School of Fashion. In 1998 she moved to Sydney with her partner, Michael Wardell, and while raising two children, was co- founder and chief designer for the childrenswear label, Monkeyface.  In 2006 the family moved to Mackay, Queensland and she was appointed Head of Junior Arts at Whitsundays Anglican School. Pamela is currently working full time on her art practise from a purpose-built studio in Tamborine Mountain, Queensland.
