'Having to leave, having to return' - A captivating video featuring the painting of Peter Neilson
Peter summarises the multi-layered story: “It is a story of forced flight. As the hordes spread through the city, the family must flee, by small boat across the ocean; to land tragically, somewhere, anywhere. All the parents can do is record the reasons for and circumstances of the death of their Infant. Importantly, they must return to their home to face the aftermath, and the ghosts created by their flight. Never again to feel safe anywhere. Two small suitcases are always packed and ready behind the door, for another future journey . . . to anywhere.”
