Australian Galleries Celebrates 70 Years
OPENING NIGHT Tuesday 23 June 6pm - 8pm
Since its beginning in 1956, Australian Galleries has continued to showcase significant contemporary Australian artists and their work for 70 years with a monthly exhibition program and extensive stock galleries.
Located in Melbourne (1956–) and Sydney (1989–), National Director Stuart Purves continues as it started “exhibiting good artists”. Stuart’s sister Caroline (Manager of Archives), and his two daughters Tamsin (now Managing Director) and Victoria (Website Administrator) makes the gallery three generations of the Purves family.
