BLUE in GREEN

Opening Night Tuesday 18 August 6pm to 8pm
Artist Talk Saturday 22 August 2pm

This new collection of works on paper takes its title and inspiration from Miles Davis and Bill Evans’ iconic track, Blue in Green. Its open modal structure offers a way of thinking about these unique prints, they emerge from carved linocuts and woodcuts—my own alphabet of images—and are guided by improvisation, where process and outcome remain in conversation. Through them, I reflect on landscapes in transition: the quiet textures of drought, the dense biological life of floodplains, and the fragile rhythms that connect them. Here, water is not only a subject but also a rhythm—one that continues to shape how I see and imagine the land.

In making these works, I found myself returning again and again to water: its’ beauty, its force and the traces it leaves behind. I thought of land held in memory, of renewal waiting beneath the surface, of the slow movement from barrenness into growth. Moving through the works, water becomes shifting, luminous and alive. Grounded in the natural world, this exhibition continues my reflection on climate change and the enduring marks it leaves on the earth.
