Nick Dridan is an artist living in the Pyrenees Ranges in Central Victoria, where he grew up. Memory, imagination and direct observation of his surroundings all play a large role in his working method and he works with both oil paint and watercolour.
His paintings have been described as revealing an inner and strange beauty that can seem slightly otherworldly. In recent works he has gone back to exploring more universal themes, symbols and ideas, which are showing up in different ways. Using the landscape around him less in a literal sense and more as a springboard to paint about other things.
Nick Dridan has been a finalist in several prizes including the A.M.E Bale Traveling Prize and the Len Fox Painting Prize.
