- Bruce Latimer

This exhibition of paintings is mainly based on sights seen and photographed while on exploratory journeys. I juxtapose images to create a kind of visual improvisation – a call and response that has richness and intensity. I am interested in artifice over observational realism.

The pictures are painted in oils on copper on the reverse side of my old etching plates. It is a polished non-absorbent surface that allows for varying degrees of warmth from the copper and transparent luminosity. – Bruce Latimer, 2022.
