Recent watercolours and drawings from Sydney, Oxford, Rome and New York
- Simon Fieldhouse

Simon Fieldhouse infuses his masterfully precise line drawings with warmth, energy and palpable reverence for his subject matter. A sharp observer with a deep appreciation for structures both ecological and architectural, Fieldhouse draws the viewer in through meticulous line and vibrant colour harmonies.

In this series, Fieldhouse lifts his perspective to the skies. With the assistance of a drone the artist has spent countless hours photographing his familiar and cherished Sydney Harbour as well as monuments throughout Europe from a completely new angle, some 100 – 200 metres above the traditional vanishing point. The resulting paintings are breathtaking in the scale and panoramic perspective they encompass. Fieldhouse reveals to the viewer the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Clovelly and Bondi beaches, Trevi Fountain, Manhattan Bridge and many more familiar landmarks through fresh, elevated eyes.
