Celebrated maritime artist, Julian Twigg has recently completed a month long artist residency in Albany, Western Australia.
The artist-in-residence program at Mary Thomson house at the Vancouver Arts Centre provides visiting artists with the opportunity to develop their practice through self-directed creative projects, and in turn contribute to wider community engagement with the Albany creative community.
Located on the picturesque and rugged coastline of the King George Sound, Julian has spent his days observing the very changeable weather patterns and painting the ships waiting to come into port. We are very much looking forward to seeing this distinctive new body of work when Julian returns to Melbourne.
