Congratulations to artists Pippin Drysdale, Jennifer Keeler-Milne, Janet Luxton and Sarah Tomasetti who have been selected as finalists in the 2022 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize.

The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is the highest value professional art prize for women in Australia.  Launched in 2017, the annual, acquisitive prize was created to enhance the opportunities for established and emerging female artists practicing in Australia.

The initiative, led by Ravenswood School for Girls, aims to address the misrepresentation of women artists across gallery exhibitions and professional prizes in which women artists represent less than half of all exhibited artists.

Developed as a long term strategy to address this shortfall, the prize will provide a platform for artists and students to connect and inspire each other, furthering the professional development of women artists while introducing students to the possibility of a career in the arts.

See images of the artists’ works below.

The winner of the $35,000 Professional Artist Prize will be announced on 13 May 2022 along with the $5000 Emerging Artist Prize and $5000 Emerging Indigenous Artist Prize.

Tickets are available now for the exhibition opening on 13 May 2022.
