Congratulations to Geoffrey Ricardo and Deborah Williams who have been selected as finalists in the 2021 Peebles Print Prize.

Queenscliff local, Graeme Peebles, is Australia’s leading mezzotint printmaker. Together, Queenscliff Gallery and Graeme Peebles established the Peebles Print Prize in 2017, a prize aimed to be representative of the highest level of printmaking in Australia and solely focused on the intaglio technique.

The success of the inaugural Prize in 2017, and then following in 2019, are proof of the ongoing enthusiasm for printmaking in Australia. Coinciding with the Geelong Gallery Acquisitive Print Award, the two prizes form a nationwide cultural focus for printmaking in Geelong and the Bellarine.

This year, the award is being judged by David Hurlston, Senior Curator, Australian Art NGV and Lisa Sullivan, Senior Curator Geelong Gallery.

An exhibition of the finalists’ work will run for five weeks at Queenscliff Gallery from 29 August until 27 September, 2021. To view the full selection of finalists, click here.
