Australian Galleries are delighted to announce that three works by artist Nick Howson will become part of the Parliament House Art Collection.

“Behind the marble halls and beside the business of lawmaking you will find one of most the country’s most significant—but perhaps lesser-known—art collections… Each work, whether it’s a portrait of a Prime Minister, a monumental tapestry, a Dreaming story or Tom Roberts’ Big Picture, will tell you a little about what it means to be Australian.” – Parliament House Art Collection

You can view the collection on the online gallery.

For #In Canberra each week one of the treasures from the national collection is chosen so its story can be told in the pages of The Saturday Paper or The Monthly. This project celebrates the Australia story through the treasures its custodians have chosen to preserve. You can view the project online here.
