Congratulations to Rodney Forbes who has been announced as a finalist in the 2020 Maritime Art Prize.

The ANL Prize supports the great work of the Mission to Seafarers with sailors who are lonely and far from home – a predicament that has been worsened by the current pandemic. For the past 18 years the prize has been staged in the spectacular Mission to Seafarers building in Melbourne’s Docklands, however this year’s exhibition will be presented online.

The theme of the prize this year is ‘The Relationship of Humanity to the Sea. Entrants compete for a share of $20,000 across five categories – Maritime Art Award, Best Traditional, Runner-Up, Emerging Artist and People’s Choice Award.

This year opening night will be online on the 15th of October at 6pm, with the exhibition running until 15 November, 2020.
