Filmmaker Peter M Lamont, of Handmade Films, has created a short film focusing on the art practice of Philip Davey.
“Painter, ceramicist, draughtsman and printmaker Philip Davey was born in England in 1949, arriving in Australia in 1957. His broad practice incorporates images of urban and natural landscape, as well as figurative narrative works, often inspired by classic Australian texts. His work is held by the British Museum print room, London; Artbank, Sydney; the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne; the National Gallery and National Library, Canberra; and regional and private collections.”
