While the history of figurative sculpture is ancient and comprehensive, contemporary artists continue to explore its myriad possibilities through traditional and modern techniques and materials.
Figuration presents a rich collection of sculptural work that reflects and responds to the physical world. While the artworks in this exhibition essentially draw inspiration from human forms, each artist explores this theme through their own unique perception and visual language.
This group exhibition features a vast selection of works in steel, bronze, copper, aluminum, ceramic, wood, porcelain and mixed media. From masterfully observed anatomical contours, too creatures symbolic, mythological and allegorical; all these diverse pieces explore three dimensional forms both real and imagined.
