Dale Cox & Guy Richards
Castlemaine Warriors: A revisionist history for the post truth era (2019)
Dale Cox in collaboration with film maker Guy Richards present a 30 minute Documentary that will run for the duration of the Castlemaine State Festival. Artefacts excavated will also be on display. Examining alternative historical and cultural possibilities, Dale Cox’s new documentary challenges notions of the Eurocentric perspective on Australia’s colonisation. Fusing diametrically opposed and disparate cultural signifiers, the artist accentuates the dislocating nature of globalisation, exploring a revisionist history with humour through a documented art hoax that takes place right in Castlemaine.
