A huge congratulations for Angus Fisher who has been announced as the Winner of the Hawkesbury Art Prize 2021.

Angus will receive $10,000 and a two week artist residency at Glenhuntly Estate.

The winning artwork was Carrion #3. The ink pen and watercolour on paper depicts a deceased female kangaroo with a painted marking to show the pouch has been checked for a joey. This work was exhibited at Australian Galleries in Fisher’s 2021 solo exhibition ‘Natural Order’, which explored human interaction with the natural world and our ongoing efforts to control and contain it.

The exhibition is open until 12 December 2021 at Purple Noon Art Gallery.
