Jamie Boyd is a celebrated master colourist, whose exquisite paintings, drawings and collages reflect his connections to Australia as well as his broad international experience.
Boyd’s work is both sensitive and expressive, sometimes subdued, sometimes fauvist in its intensity, and often drawing on the traditions of European painters.
City Limits showcases a series of the artist’s distinctive works in which layers of striking colours lead the viewer through scenes idyllic, surreal and often dream-like. This exhibition presents a diverse collection of work in various mediums, including oils, collage and charcoal drawings and imagery reflecting figurative, urban, landscape, animals, still life and abstract themes.
