From the garden
- Kate Hudson

OPENING NIGHT – Tuesday 19 November 6pm to 8pm
MEET THE ARTIST – Saturday 30 November 2pm

I love the birds that visit my garden. There are the constant companions I see everyday like the Magpie, Currawong and Kookaburra who feature in my most recent prints. And then there are the more elusive ones like the Eastern Spinebill and the Little lorikeet who only come round when their favourite plants are flowering. This is an exhibition of works featuring a selection of my favourite native Australian birds and flowers. The prints are reduction linocuts and take around two months to complete, the colours are slowly built up using transparent layers of ink and more of the printing surface is carved away after each colour has been printed.
