Tim Jones constructs a uniquely dreamlike, yet familiar world in his current exhibition, Scarecrows, trees, birds and bees.
Utilising the language of narrative illustration, he invites the viewer to explore mythical forests, creatures of the natural world, whimsical scarecrows, and his signature humble houses and windswept trees.
Contemplating nature, the cycles of life, themes of time, growth, imagination and memory, Jones presents works on a relatively small scale, their presence imbued with warmth and humility.
This exhibition presents intricately detailed, monochromatic woodblock prints, vibrantly coloured etchings, observational sketches in silverpoint and Jones’ celebrated wood and bronze sculptures in varying scale. Tim Jones’ work evokes a wondrous sense of romance, folklore and deep appreciation for the natural world.
