Congratulations to Dianne Fogwell, Glenda Orr and Heather Shimmen, whose work has been selected for the 2021 InkMasters Print Exhibition.

The InkMasters Print Exhibition is an international juried exhibition that brings together the best printmakers from tropical North Queensland with national and international artists from around the world.

The 138 selected works of art present an exciting range of many print mediums and combinations of media, traditional and contemporary, in a range of formats including three-dimensional works such as artists’ books.

Prizes will be awarded including an award named for Anna Eglitis, a senior Cairns artist who mentored some of the Far North’s most prolific and important artists.

The exhibition opens at Tank Arts Centre in Cairns on 25 June and is current until 25 July 2021. For more information, click here.

Glenda Orr’s interactive artists’ book, COVID Noughts and Crosses – Distancing Games, was created collaboratively with New Zealand-based artist, Kathy Boyle. The work was inspired by the artists’ documentation of all the dots and crosses we have been standing on during COVID and a play with strategies and structures of the noughts and crosses game.

Dianne Fogwell has had two artists’ books selected, Roll out the burn carpet and The dead tree scroll – silent extinction.
