Members of the Victorian Forest Alliance, Kinglake Friends of the Forest and Environment East Gippsland, have taken legal action against Victoria’s state owned logging agency VicForests over failure to survey for and protect Greater Gliders from logging.
The alliance is excited to launch an online art auction to support the case and raise much needed funds to defend the Greater Glider and their habitat in court. All of the money raised from the auction will go towards the case.
Sue Anderson’s Tree-top Rosellas, Christine Wrest-Smith’s Habitat Sixteen and John Wolseley’s Djirrididi – forest kingfisher with scavenger moths and bombardier beetles are among many works generously donated by artists.
All artwork will be exhibited over the weekend of 12 – 13 February at Black Spark Cultural Centre in Northcote.
The auction will be live until Saturday 12 February. To view the online auction, click here.
