Salvatore Zofrea – Artist Profile Issue 58

In News March 3, 2022

Salvatore Zofrea is the cover artist for issue 58 of Artist Profile, with a feature by editor Kon Gouriotis.

Artist Profile‘s cover story on Salvatore Zofrea speaks to Zofrea’s three current and upcoming exhibitions. Two are surveys, curated from his sixty years of making art. The Drawn Line is a collaboration between Manly Art Gallery & Museum and Orange Regional Gallery, which focuses on the artist’s works on paper. Luminosity, at Macquarie University Art Gallery is attentive to changes in Zofrea’s paintings, drawings and prints. The third is an exhibition at Australian Galleries, Sydney, ‘Nature and Light’ including Zofrea’s monumental Midday Light – a thirty meter painting viewed in the round. The issue celebrates Zofrea’s monumental ‘Nature and Light’ exhibition at Australian Galleries, Sydney, with a double-sided lift out poster featuring his 2021 Midday Light and 2013 Morning Light.

“What makes Salvatore Zofrea’s paintings? Three current Zofrea exhibitions show that music, poetry, and belief have provided a way for the artist to develop complex visual experiences into paintings that stay with the viewer“.  – Words by Kon Gouriotis.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Salvatore’s upcoming Australian Galleries Sydney exhibition, opening Tuesday 24 May.
