Ian Westacott

b. 1956

Printmaker Ian Westacott completed a Diploma in Art and Design at Wangaratta Technical College in 1975 and Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1987. Westacott moved to Scotland in the early 1990s where he taught printmaking. He has held exhibitions in Melbourne and joint exhibitions with fellow print maker Raymond Arnold in Scotland, Paris and Melbourne. His work has been included in group exhibitions including the National Gallery of Victoria in 1993. Westacott was awarded the Gold Coast Acquisitive Prize in 1987, an ANZ Fellowship in 1988 and the Warrnambool Henri Worland Acquisitive award in 1989. His work is represented by the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; the Gold Coast Art Centre, QLD; the Warrnambool Art Gallery, VIC and internationally by the Aberdeen Art Gallery in Scotland.
