New South Wales based Printmaker Monique Auricchio completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Printmaking) at the Canberra School of Art. Her work examines human perceptions of animals, often using shadow and dark tones to emphasise the threatening or foreboding elements of the relationship. Auricchio has held solo exhibitions in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Darwin. Her work was included in ‘Flying Carpet: International women’s travelling print exhibition’ which toured to Switzerland, the Balkans, Spain, Luxembourg, Italy and the United States. In 2006 Auricchio was awarded the Jacques Cadry Art Prize by the State Library of Sydney.
