Earth laughs in gardens: Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803 – 1882
- Dianne Fogwell

I draw my inspiration from daily observations of Australian flora and fauna, creating almost hallucinatory and dreamlike imagery of often unnoticed elements in my local landscape. My works on paper are a contemplation on the cycle of pollination, revealing the beauty of this natural choreography. I started to carve linocuts of flowers and observed pollinators from my garden and explored images from past botanists available in the public domain.

I am interested in how others throughout time and circumstance saw the same flower from my garden while appreciating the important role played by pollinators to the preservation of our natural world.
